The Roach is a private cannabis collective in Knysna, on South Africa’s Garden Route. Fifteen years of quiet, organic craft. No shortcuts. No poison. No noise.
Long before the name, there was a garden.
Fifteen-odd years ago, in the wet green quiet outside Knysna, somebody planted something and refused to spray it. That refusal became a habit. The habit became a standard. The standard became The Roach.
Don’t panic — it’s organic. It always has been.
We grow the way the forest grows. Slowly.
Small batches. Living soil. Hands, not machines. Cured until it’s ready — not until it’s Friday.
Most of what we do takes longer than it needs to. That’s how you know it’s ours.
Named after the part that gets passed.
A roach is what’s left when a joint has done its work — the stub at the end, the proof that it went around the circle.
We didn’t name ourselves after the plant. We named ourselves after the sharing.

The Roach is a private cannabis club in the old sense of the word — a collective of adults in Knysna who take the plant seriously and take the stigma apart. Education over hype. Craft over volume. Garden Route grown, Western Cape born.
Membership is by introduction. Nothing is sold here, and nothing ever has a price on it. If you know, you know. If you don’t — ask.
